What'd Ya Eat

AP: Diet Reduces Heart Attacks, Strokes
A large study offers the strongest evidence yet that a diet the government recommends for lowering blood pressure can save people from heart attack and stroke.

The plan, called the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet, favors fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat milk and plant-based protein over meat.
OK its up to you, it might be time to stop eating those deep fried in lard oreos - tasty, but not good for you.

Sande's version of a Scottish breakfast.

- 1/2 cup of steel cut oats
- tablespoon of dulse
- 1 cup of water
- splash of olive oil
- a salmon patty or fillet about 4 ounces worth.

Bring the water, oats, and dulse to a boil, cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.
Slowly saute' the patty or fillet over low heat in olive oil. If you do it slow enough it will be cooked when the oats are done.

Put the cooked oats in a bowl and top with the fillet or patty, garnish to taste.
