Every six months or so I tune into R. Limbaugh.
I listened on Monday the 14th, not much has changed since six months ago.
I listened to the futility of calling into his show. Someone called to defend Obama. Limbaugh was dragging Obama through the mud, no surprise here. One curious remark had Limbaugh attributing Obama with being inarticulate. Can you imagine, 7 years of drooling Bush and he goes after Obama.
Apparently hate radio has settled on McCain, no surprise here.
It would be a beneficial study in the art of profoundly poor and lopsided debate by analyzing Limbaugh's comments. The caller was silenced, quite literally, his voice was removed from the sequence. What better way to attack a critic than to remove the critic, no chance for a retort. Limbaugh went into a patriotic soliloquy, I wondered if he believed it himself.
You will not hear one word about the massive destructiveness that the Bush administration has wrought. Nothing about the economy, nothing about the war, nothing about massive deficits, the great failure of Bush, its all about the flawed 'ideology' of liberalism and how to expunge that scourge. Somewhere in Limbaugh's mind, Bush has apparently succeeded.
I must say the deceptions, obfuscations, hypocrisies, half truths, all were perfect. It occurred that here is perhaps the best salespeople of all time. This is exactly what he does, he sells the right and he sells commercials, and he's unsurpassed.
I took away nothing from the experience and remembered why I listen every six months. Its the same story and production every time. Rush believes its 1994 and the Republican conservative revolution is blooming and that liberals are scoundrels on the run. Its a broken record, ultimately there's nothing there. I doubt that he even knows what a liberal is. I can sum up his talking point with a right wing slogan of the past - "My country right or wrong." Limbaugh took that slogan and molded it into a long lucrative career.
