Iraq and Slavery

Reuters: Bangladesh evacuates stranded workers from Iraq
Bangladesh has begun evacuating thousands of stranded workers who were trafficked into war-ravaged Iraq by illegal manpower traders, officials said on Wednesday.

Those evacuated on Wednesday estimated that about 10,000 more Bangladeshis were still in Iraq, facing a hard time without jobs and proper documents.
One very obvious question comes to mind, why are immigrants being herded into Iraq to work, when the unemployment rate as a result of shock and awe is unbelievably high and the Iraqi people are impoverished even further as a result of unemployment?

Somebody should trace the money on this latest scandal, odds are it lands at some US or British related corporation or enterprise of some nature.
