NY Times: Trump and Putin vs. America By Thomas L. Friedman
There is overwhelming evidence that our president, for the first time in our history, is deliberately or through gross negligence or because of his own twisted personality engaged in treasonous behavior — behavior that violates his oath of office to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Trump vacated that oath today, and Republicans can no longer run and hide from that fact.

Such an admission by a president sworn to be the principal defender of the Constitution and America’s sovereignty in the world is extraordinary enough.

A Disgrace

NY Times: Just Sitting Down With Trump, Putin Comes Out Ahead
All he really needs to make his meeting with Mr. Trump a success is for it to take place without any major friction — providing a symbolic end to Western efforts to isolate Russia over its actions against Ukraine in 2014, its meddling in the United States election in 2016 and other examples of what the United States Treasury Department has described as Russia’s “malign activity” around the world.

Trump is willing to burn down the world in order to preserve his massive ego and to further his family's business interests and wealth. Trump is meeting with Putin, fawning over him like a love sick teen, and apologizing to him for the fact the Russia has been caught red handed interfering in our elections. Trump prefers they were never caught, and then lies about it as cover. The GOP must step up, look what you are doing, look at what this man is doing, it's not about party, it's about the country.

NY Times: Live Updates: Trump-Putin Meeting Starts in Helsinki By THE NEW YORK TIMES
Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin began one-on-one talks on Monday at an exceptionally awkward time, just days after the Justice Department indicted 12 Russian intelligence agents on charges of hacking the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. But Mr. Trump blamed the United States for the tensions between the countries, not Russia.
