2008

Wanting to post something positive to welcome in the New Year, here's a clip of H.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche.

In the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, he is very highly regarded.

He's talking about impermanence. Its a simple idea, one that we all know about, but we don't really think about it being caught up in our regular day to day stuff.

Universes, suns, solar systems, seasons, people, relationships, dictatorships, even our moods, thoughts, and worries, its all changing, very subtly to very dramatically. It usually feels like there is permanence, but our micro and macro personal, world, and complete history tells us otherwise.

Permanent... No such thing. Only death is permanent and even that idea isn't permanent. Every atom in your body was formed billions of yrs. ago inside a super nova. Were all products of a BIG bang in more then one way. Our bodies are made up of billions of sub-intelligences all working together in a grand confederation till something makes it no work anymore then all these intelligences go their separate ways. Its a miracle anything works at all.
