"Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain, and most fools do." - Benjamin Franklin
Obama wins. Huckabee wins. On the surface can you imagine a more polarized set of winners - Obama, progressive, liberal, antiwar, articulate - Huckabee, conservative, fundamentalist, pro-war, anti-abortion, anti-gay. Color blindness anyone?

As much as people are talking about change in America and a desire on the part of all of the people to get something non-Bush happening, these two would seem to represent the vast chasm, or universe, still separating the hearts and minds of middle, higher, and lower America.

Huckabee is probably further to the right with regard to fundamentalism than Bush. Has anybody on the right learned anything from these disheartening last 7 years - more Bush please and heavier on the fundamentalism.

The next primary is on Tuesday the 8th in New Hampshire. My prediction: who the hell knows, but I still hope Edwards places high.

As likable and articulate as Obama is, history would seem to preclude his winning against the great whale Republican way. Is this why Republicans like him.

Biden, Dodd to abandon White House runs

David Brooks should do us all the favor of taking an indefinite leave of absence. Besides Kristol is now on staff, exactly how many Weekly Standard crazies do they need. Who wants to read the NYT anymore. I shrink at the thought of contributing to their salaries.

Edwards, did well. I still think in the end he'll win over Obama. Why? because soon its going to dawn on the Demo. voter that Obama can't win by himself. The Iowa situation showed me what an almost desperate desire for real change exists in the Demo. party right now. Clintonism is no longer in the saddle. If u put Edwards and Obama together thats 2/3rds of the party for change not more Corp. establishment BS. As for the Reptiles you gotta laugh. Huckabee is their worst nightmare, as you so accurately said he's even further to the right then BV$H and will anyone buy the "compassionate consevatisim" BS line again form this guy? The fundies will buy it hook line and sinker because their friggin idiots. Huckabee is ironically a God send alright, for Edwards / Obama.

One way or the other it all gets fleshed out in the next month more or less.

I would like to see Edwards win - nice ticket actually Edwards/Obama. I like it.

I was thinking about the reaction if these guys actually won the whole thing. Can you imagine the right wing noise over that and then the kind of battle at the 2012 election where the neocons come back more virulent and uglier than ever.

They are really inheriting a mess. Health care, deficits, wars, lots of economic crap ready to hit the fan. Its like riding on a stuffed an open garbage truck trying to hang on and not lose too much.

Were on the same page my friend. I just finished writing my post for tomorrow and it pretty much under lines your conclusions. I wouldn't care to be the next Pres. who is going to have all this nastiness dumped on his/her lap after BV$H and his criminal gang depart. Like the looting of Baghdad the Iraq war was nothing more then a massive looting of the American taxpayer. The Repubs. having dined every day on on steak and lobster are almost ready to leave and present the bill to the hapless , clueless demos. and then to the rest of us. The next Pres. no matter who they are will be forced to raise taxes big time and this will just enrage the FOX, Limbaugh sector of the greedopoly that owns America. They expect and will demand that their enormous looting operation of the last 8 yrs. be protected. America will IMO descend rapidly to the status of a third world country like Argentina or worse over the next 10 yrs. God help us because Wall Street, the Chinese and Russians sure as hell aren't going to.

Interesting that you mention 3rd world status for America.

I think that the financial managers in the USA decided to make as many of us 3rd worlders back when credit cards became a dime a dozen. People ran up huge debt, couldn't pay, and then got the interest rates hiked up to the moon. They are now lucky they can pay back one dollar of principle on a 100.

There are so many tricks these guys use to bilk us including mortgage payments. Most people don't know how to pay off the principle with a payment. They think you can only pay it off on the back end of the loan. You can pay off the front end as well and save literally thousands and thousands.

3rd World indeed, that is definitely in the plan and it makes me furious. Now we hit a sore spot. Nothing worse than an MBA smirky SOB who could care less how he milks you with some crap scam.
