The Last and The Worst

BBC: Bush seeks to ease economy fears
According to Gallup polls of approval ratings around the time of the State of the Union addresses, this is the worst year for Mr Bush since his presidency began.

But with his powers on Capitol Hill restricted by the realities of party politics, and with the US electorate now so clearly in the mood for change, it will not be surprising if the speech feels more retrospective than most, our correspondent says.

After this, he adds, the likelihood is that attention in the US and abroad will focus ever more clearly on the drama of choosing a new president.
Bush has become a body cast on the American torso. Its restrictive, generally unbearable, and one can't wait for it to be gone.

I think the one picture that will always remind me most of what we've all been through these last 8 yrs. is the one of the guy being tortured at Abu Gabrib where he's in the hood with wires attached to him. It reminded me of something the klan or the nazis would have done to a prisoner. To me its come to symbolize the depravity as well as the moral & ethical blindness of this odious regime As a nation were going to be a very long time recovering from the psychological and spiritual "torture" this "evil" regime has imposed on all of us.
But where not out of the woods quite yet. This guy has this whole yr. to dick around with us and you can be sure he will.

All of Abu Ghraib is swept under the rug. The plan is promote Bush for the next year as softer, kinder, and wiser. No one will dispute those types of pronouncements from the White House. Fox news is all set to promote it. Its also part of the party politics in an attempt to win the White House for Republicans. They are once again relying on an incredibly short term memory issue with the public and a media that provides no context or history. Its amnesia time, again.

Your so right. No matter what crimes this villain commits. No matter how bold his lies the media acts as though its a non-subject. Reality is what BV$H and his PR people say it is take it or leave it. Watch though when a Dem. gets back in the WH this same bunch will suddenly find their memories and their voices. Every minor misstep will then be endlessly mulled over and amplified as it was during Clinton's Presidency. Whitewater and all that followed it to the Impeachment was an example of what its going to be like for any Dem. pres. no matter how he tries to please the Reptiles.
