Star Wars Won't Ever Go Away

Ladies and Gentlemen let me re-introduce to you for the hundredth time, "Star Wars" the missile defense system first brought to you by Reagan and every conservative right wing neo-con since:

Missile shield is 'urgent' - Bush
"...George W Bush...said there is a "real and urgent" need for a missile defence system in Europe.

Mr Bush said the missile threat was from the Middle East, not Russia...

He warned that Iran could have a ballistic missile capable of reaching Europe or the US by 2015."

Conservatives might call this prudent. In this context it has to do with pumping money into the military industrial complex in particular the vast weapons production facility of the US. Wall Street loves this stuff. W-USA all military and all war all of the time.

Progressives call this fear mongering. Exploiting fear for the sake of a corporate or political purpose. They might also call it another example of the faster drum beat that is sounding to start a war with Iran. They might also call it a waste of money.

I'm not exactly sure why Iran would want to go lobbing missiles at Denamrk or Italy. Considering the USA can essentially destroy the entire world multiple times just in case any one single living cell organism survived the first destruction.

George Bush believes that Iran will be lobbing missiles into Switzerland in 2015 and therefor we need to dust off Reagan's star wars again. The thing doesn't work, this has been shown numerous times, but why let a little problem like that stop anybody from wasting billions of taxpayers dollars.

Why should we be worried about Iran launching missiles into Europe, anyway? Let the European Union defend itself for Christ sakes. haven't we carried Europe's friggin water long enough?? Besides the fact that every scientist that has looked at this idea has declared it stupid and a waste of money. But, wating money on stupid defense toys is BV$H et als. forte isn't it?

The neo-cons wanted star wars in PNAC. Bush is still sticking with the PNAC script.
