George Bush wants you to know that the USA does not torture people.
Bush denies US torture use claims
US President George W Bush has rejected claims his administration uses torture and defended the CIA's methods.
He was responding to a New York Times report that the US Justice Department secretly authorised harsh interrogation techniques for terror suspects in 2005.
Secret U.S. Endorsement of Severe Interrogations
But soon after Alberto R. Gonzales’s arrival as attorney general in February 2005, the Justice Department issued another opinion, this one in secret. It was a very different document, according to officials briefed on it, an expansive endorsement of the harshest interrogation techniques ever used by the Central Intelligence Agency.
Bush is like the grand magical pacifier. He slowly wipes his hand across the world expanse and in so doing removes the calamity of his actions.
He's the kind do well soldier speaking to the eviscerated remains of his dying war buddy saying its ok, you're fine, everything will be ok, just think good thoughts.
Bush has cried wolf about 2,000 times too many. Under scrutiny and closer examination of the mildest type, his statements fall apart. He hedges his bet against the willingness of the American people to stay ill informed. He knows that his megaphone is the biggest, his words will get pumped all over the world like a well timed stink bomb.
