Arrogance

Arrogance is a theme we have witnessed over the past several years. It starts at the top and sends out its deadly roots in all directions.

"-having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities"

Arrogance and inexperience dog Iraq's private army
Incidents like the Blackwater shooting four weeks ago happen because arrogant companies are hiring inexperienced staff, one Iraq security operator told AFP, as others defended the industry.

"Some of the large companies don't give a monkey's because they are so arrogant," said Will Geddes, the managing director of British consultancy ICP that works in Iraq reviewing contractors' operations.

I find the rise of the mercenary armies of the United States to be a particularly troubling aspect of the neocon/Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld agenda. Make no mistake the idea of privatizing the military was a neocon goal.

These guys operate without any oversight or accountability. The scary thing is that these guys were in New Orleans after Katrina. If you think that was the last time Blackwater will be seen in the US, think again. They are honing their "product."
