Obama in Iraq

Obama is being well received. The Iraqis have wanted us out for a long time now. Its almost unthinkable that we are still in Iraq, still unthinkable that shock and awe began.

Mr Obama has vowed to remove US combat troops from Iraq within 16 months of becoming president if he is elected. The Illinois senator met Nouri al-Maliki, the Iraqi prime minister, and US commanders during a key stop on his week-long tour of the Middle East and Europe aimed at shoring up his foreign policy credentials.
