Hanged

Gulf News: Iran to hang 30 people for murder, smuggling
Iran plans to execute 30 people in Tehran on Sunday for murder, drug smuggling and other crimes, according to media reports on Saturday.

Iran usually carries out executions in prison, by hanging.

Amnesty International in April listed Iran as the world's
second most prolific executioner last year, with at least 317 people put to death.
The worlds most prolific executioner is China.

The USA is high up on the list of countries that execute people.

Take a look at the top executioners: China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iraq and the USA -not in any particular order .

Its interesting to note that in this essential point of justice, the USA joins the company of the countries that one would hear excoriated on a regular basis by militant rightists, neo-cons, and Limbaugh ditto heads.

From the point of view of justice and the death penalty, the USA is on equal footing with some of the worst regimes in the world, regimes that many regard as our enemy. We share the same moral ideologies surrounding the death penalty. Interesting thing to note, is it not.
