No Immunity For Blackwater et al

Presumably companies like Blackwater will not be retroactively charged with massive war crimes, one would suspect that this point was in the deal. So any shootings of entire families or innocent people on the streets will be tucked away.

Blackwater must now train its personnel to not shoot with impunity.

In truth this entire deal seems fishy, like its some kind of staged media event to convince people that there is autonomy in Iraq. I don't buy it. There is a history of similarly staged events that were all for show.

Yahoo: US agrees to scrap immunity for security guards in Iraq: FM
The Iraqi foreign minister said on Tuesday that Washington has agreed to scrap immunity for foreign security guards in Iraq, moving the two countries closer to signing a long-term security pact.

"The immunity for private security guards has been removed. The US has agreed on it," Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari told AFP after briefing Iraqi MPs on the controversial US-Iraq security pact which is being negotiated.
