Spy Away

NYT: Senate Passes Bill to Expand U.S. Spying Powers
After more than a year of heated political wrangling, the Senate handed the White House a major victory Tuesday by voting to broaden the government’s spy powers after giving legal protection to phone companies that cooperated in President Bush’s warrantless eavesdropping program. Why bother with a new election. Let's just make it a permanent Bush Presidency.

WHAT THE FUCK? Every so called Demo. that voted for this piece of shit of a BILL should be outed for the DINO lying bastards they are. What good is having an opposition party that is gutless and worse really part of the other party on close inspection. Disgraceful!!
The base of the Demo. party is sick of this kind of BS from their presumptive leadership no less. Why bother having a Constitution and a Bill of Rights when every time a threat appears these fools suspend our liberties for what they believe is a little bit of security. As Ben Franklin once said under these circumsatces you end up with neither Liberty nor Security. You end up with Tyranny from within.
GK you sum up my sense of this outrage in democracy.
All I can imagine is that Bush is holding something over everybody's head. He gets his way on these most appalling issues. Its unreal. If the dems are that freeking spineless, what's exactly is left. There's no place for solace, no place for justice. This is an abomination.
If either Obama or Clinton gets in so what? if this is the Congress they get it just means BV$H will continue to run things from Crawford anyway. Its becoming pretty obvious something is seriously screwed up in DC.
