Glide

BBC: Robot glider harvests ocean heat
A sea-going robotic glider that harvests heat energy from the ocean has been tested by US scientists.

The team believe the glider - which needs no batteries - could undertake oceanographic surveys for up to six months at a time.
Today at dinner, someone asked if there were any positive stories out there. You can understand. If the discussion is political or about the state of the economy or society in general, it can get depressing. Call it the Bush legacy.

Anyhow, the one recent story I could recall that was positive was this BBC article. It strikes me as a type of technology that is desirable.

If it was a car instead of glider now that would be something!

Wouldn't the full title be -

"tree hugging commie terrorist Islamo-fascist bastards"

Geez I don't think so .

But looking at the ethanol issue for a couple of weeks now, I think that its a scam by big oil and agribusiness. Talk about a mess - how about linking agribusiness with oil.

Same issue. Keep everything under the grip of energy corporations and in ethanol's case, extend the power and the grip.

Yea, ur right. Add in the nukes ( Gen. Electric) and its a lock energy wise. These toxic klowns are the Barons of Western Civ. If u ask me all energy systems should be commonly owned. Call me a communist but look what happens when their owned by the aristocracy! Nothing but resource wars under the guise of Nat'l security. B.S.!!

My dream is to build a small green energy house. Couple solar panels, well insulated, efficient. Its coming. I want off the grid.
