Memphis now has the distinction of being the area with the highest rate of hunger in America. One in four people is having a difficult time buying enough food.

This is what the Gopers left us! What so galling is that we thought we had elected a new admin. that understood that previous admins. policies had brought us to this pace and it needed to be changed but it appears the same discredited approach is still in the saddle.
What can be done to generate jobs. We know the GOP approach which seems to be based on trickle down and we see how well that works. Obama can't pull off a new deal. People are married to corporations as the job center or the state as job center. If I'm in charge and I want to create jobs for the middle and poor class, I cut taxes, cut interest rates, make micro loans, create educational opportunity for skill development, improve health care, encourage tax credits for infrastructure improvement including home owners. But how does one slow down globalization. Companies are going to China, eventually the Chinese standard of living rises and wages have to keep pace in China. How do you create jobs.
If your a pol you just create them out of whole cloth and give them to your family and friends, it's easy. Want to be an asst. to the asst. of the asst. to the Mayors Sect.? Great job 80K a yr. plus benefits and all u need to do is know someone , no resume is necessary. There u go wasn't that easy? Oh and u get Civil Service protection a car and cell ph ( Blackberry) and a daily voucher for lunch and drinks. You also get to travel to meetings in Hawaii in Jan. and Europe in Summer to do research. I think you've worked hard enough how about a vacation? That's how we do it here in A.C.
