McCain - Best Actor Award In An Economic Crisis

Regarding the economic crisis, Obama is emerging as the person who is placing the interests of the ordinary person over the interests of corporations.

McCain is calling for less oversight of the bail out money. In addition McCain is viewed by the American people as making the interests of the corporations of primary importance. Considering McCain's record, how else could it be.

We are waiting to understand the meaning of or the reasoning for McCain's white horse ride into Washington DC. We are reading accounts of McCain offering virtually nothing except for a disruptive plan that offers considerable advantages for the financial corporations.

Given the minuscule importance that Americans place on at least attempting to understand the issues, McCain's actions appear to have more to do with creating a theatrical display for the media than to actually help craft a valuable and authentic plan of action.

Although I looked forward to the debate, listening to Obama give a town hall is perfectly fine.

NYT: McCain Leaps Into a Thicket
...there was no evidence that he (McCain) was playing a major role in the frantic efforts on Capitol Hill to put a deal back together again.

...the day’s events succeeded most of all in raising questions about precisely why Mr. McCain had called for postponing the first debate and returned to Washington to focus on the bailout plan...

A New York Times/CBS News poll released Thursday found new evidence that the deteriorating economic environment was helping Mr. Obama. Voters who said the economy was the key issue for them were far more likely to support Mr. Obama.

...52 percent of respondents said Mr. McCain cares more about protecting the interests of large corporations, compared with 32 percent who said that he cared most about protecting the interests of ordinary people.
