Say the Pledge

We are into the patriotism testing and chest thumping phase of the Presidential campaign.

Ordinarily this is the phase where right wingnut Republicans begin their screwy attack on the patriotism of the Democratic candidates. I keep forgetting this but all Democrats are socialist minded communist fascists. And where exactly is your flag pin?

Do Republicans dutifully jump to this low level because they fear actual dialogue on the important issues. You know, if we keep them off balance with a mud slinging contest then maybe we can squeak one out.

The media naturally has to follow along, rolling around in the muck is just fine for the MSM and an even better for America.

CNN: Obama responds to attacks on his patriotism

Obama vowed to never question the patriotism of others in the campaign, adding "I will not stand idly by when I hear others question mine."

Obama has been defending his patriotism ever since the beginning of the primary season, when he was first criticized for not wearing a flag pin -- which he now does much more frequently -- and when false rumors began circulating that he did not say the Pledge of Allegiance.
