Iraq Violence 6-17-08

We read and hear that the surge has worked but the suicide bombings continue.

AP: Car bomb kills more than 50 people in Baghdad
A car bomb tore through a market area in a mainly Shiite neighborhood in Baghdad on Tuesday, killing more than 50 people and wounding dozens, officials said, the deadliest such attack in more than three months.
I can't say it enough, but if this type of violence occurred one time in the US, the mood of the country would crumple. Yet we read about this in Iraq and have become numb to its implications. Sure, the surge is working.
