Flooding Continues

There some kind of saying about how bad news comes in groups of three.

We are way beyond three, and the people in flooded communities of the Midwest are experiencing great suffering.

The price of food was already an issue with rising fuel costs affecting many aspects of food production. With crop fields and especially corn fields damaged by flooding, food prices will increase worldwide as America is a great bread basket for the planet.

Corn is a misunderstood crop. Corn is found in so many processed foods its almost unreal, plus it is also used as livestock feed. You could be eating food that has a corn product in it all day long, everyday, and not realize that a corn product is in the food. That would also include beverages, ice cream, almost everything that is processed.

Reuters: Midwest levee breaks, corn price at new high
Fears that as many as 5 million acres of corn and soybeans have been lost to flooding in the world's largest grain and food exporter have pushed corn and livestock prices to record highs in the last week.
