36,000

The economy has added a meager 36,000 jobs in January. That is weak. Allegedly the unemployment percentage drops to 9%. That is because people are falling off the records into nowhere land. That is tragic, the number is awful.

The rate will go down as the long term unemployed vanish off the Gov't radar, but ignore that no. it doesn't really mean much anymore. The no. to watch is how many new jobs are being created each mos. Very few and the Obama admin. dishonestly will pt. to the former no. as proof it's policies are working, when in fact the very opposite is true. It's really pathetic.

It is pathetic. I don't quite understand it either, especially in light of the way corporations are making money hand over fist. Fourth quarter reports have been very strong. The DOW is at 12,000 right now. I don't get it.

Yes the employment percentage is completely bogus, its a complete joke. I hope nobody reading this blog falls for it.

The way i've heard it the Big Corps. no longer see employing Americans as a positive thing. They are more interested in selling to Americans the shit they produce in their overseas factories, instead. So the profits might be huge but they are being reinvested offshore not here. This is IMO the really treacherous result of CORPORATIST Gov't. The pols do nothing to stop the export of jobs as long as these companies fill their pockets. At the same juncture these creeps pay the other wing of the corporatist party the GOP to cut benefits and wages for those who still have a job or are trying to retire. Everyone that is but themselves. They get the big fat pensions free medical and to top it all off they step right into the plush revolving door to BIG Corp. jobs after they retire from Gov't service. This kind of corruption is destroying the middle class and gutting the economy.
