Winter Winter

In my opinion there are two major stories that we need to stay on top of.

Its difficult to find the exact words for point one. However point one is the ongoing erosion of the Democratic Republic, the USA. We are talking about an erosion that sends more and more people towards poverty and more and more wealth into the hands of the few elite rich. Yes it sounds like the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and it is all of that and more. We no longer have a representative government. We have a government of ultra rich individuals creating policy that deceptively moves wealth of all types into the hands of a few. Democracy is hurting. Power is concentrated in the hands of a few.

The second point is the environment. If you read the information from Cancun, you learn that a 2 degree rise in the global temperature is an accepted fact. These negotiators are attempting to limit the rise beyond 2 degrees and the method of achieving "only" a 2 degree rise are not in place. Its just the opposite, carbon emissions are growing. We just learned that the demand for oil is at historic levels. More is being used than ever before.

You can't put this information into 7 word byte slogans.

CS Monitor: Snow storm snarls Midwest: Is US facing another extreme winter?
The region of high pressure over Greenland has pushed huge troughs of Canadian air into the US, causing the fifth biggest snow storm on record in Minneapolis over the weekend and now threatening Orlando, Fla., with 20 degree F temperatures.

Meteorologists have also predicted greater-than-normal swings between the season's coldest and hottest days...
