Jim was a genius and the band forever iconic of that age. He would have been the Elvis of that era, but had the good timing to die young and not morph into the grotesque thing poor Elvis went on to become before he died.
They were a cut above. I recently heard that Morrison was a devotee of Sinatra. Sinatra was hid idol.
