Bush on Tibet

Breitbart: Bush calls for China dialogue with Dalai Lama envoys
US President George W. Bush for the first time publicly pressed China to hold talks with representatives of Tibet's spiritual leader after raising concerns over the bloody turmoil in the Himalayan territory.
This appeal from George Bush rings hollow.

Bush's neo-con advisers would promote any confrontation with China. Yet it is because of his neo-con advisers and their role in crafting the Iraq war/occupation that Bush's words have no power or authority particularly in the world arena.

Exactly what is Bush going to say to the Chinese, "We disapprove of your imperialistic conquests." Its laughable.

The tragedy of it all for Tibet is that they now have a window of opportunity with the world community, especially with China wanting to present itself favorably to the world with the upcoming Olympics. China does not want to be seen as an imperialistic demon with Tibet. Unfortunately for the Tibetans, Bush has no moral authority, Iraq, torture, Abu Ghraib, and a his long dirty laundry list leaves Bush with no relevance and no higher ground leg to stand on.
