An Itty Bitty Less Tough On Crime

All those tough on crime GOPers are now eating their words. They are backing away from lock em up and throw away the key talk.

- State budgets are in the red.
- Prisons costs are rising.
- The prison population is huge.

So now what?

There's an irony in here right. The slashing of social spending and the general poor shape of the economy are not helping the poor and uneducated. Oh yes, now whose idea was it to cut social spending and to eliminate corporate oversight. Anybody? Got any ideas?

You need to have at least two elements to be able to govern effectively. You need to have an understanding of cause and effect, and you need to have an eye to the future with an understanding of possibility.
