Gulf Floor Is Dead

Apparently BP has stated that all will be well by 2012. Not so.

Turns out the Gulf oil spill also released large quantities of methane that mixed with the water. I was not even aware of this fact.

Yahoo: Scientist finds Gulf bottom still oily, dead

Good editorial today in the Albany Times Union. As Repubs push for less govt regulation and tea partyers want govt "out of the way," I might show up at the next rally with signs reading
More mercury in fish!
More catastrophic oil spills!
More polluted water!
More coal mine disasters!
More greenhouse gasses!
More financial meltdowns!
Get government off the backs of our businesses!

I think the right is worried about the social networking advances. They are threatened that information can get passed around so fast. The right is pushing real hard right now.

Your right Ed, that's exactly what Repugs are really saying when they misuse that popular phrase. The veiled part is that they love Big Gov't nosing around in our personal lives when it has to do with what substances we can ingest ( drugs) and what our sex and reproductive lives are all about. They see no contradiction here because they're modus operandi is hypocrisy and deceit. These are twisted authoritarians as Jim likes to call them. I prefer calling them totalitarians. We might eventually have to fight them because they will eventually want to impose their own version of Christotaliban Sharia law on the rest of us and decide to do it at gun pt. They're great grands did it in the 19th when they had the SCOTUS pass the Civil War starting Dred Scott decision. This awful act forced by law every American to hand over escaped slaves or be arrested themselves. Once Abortion is again turned back to the States to decide such a situation is possible again. I can foresee a situation where states that ban Abortion could pass laws forbidding it's women from going to States that haven't banned it for Abortions. They could also pass laws making Abortion murder and then arresting those same women or worse putting warrants for their arrest out and forcing other States to hand them over for trial. The Irish tried to do this to women who were going to England to have an abortion. They only stopped when they were told they would be tossed out of the European Union if they didn't change that law. The anti- abortion zealots won't be placated by Roe being reversed, that won't satisfy them. They will also want Griswold vs. Conn. over turned and personal privacy rights being ended as a result. They only want Gov't out of the lives of BIG CORPS. adding even more rights to these imaginary persons. The rest of us are to be reduced to peasants and serfs with NO rights.

I see the repubs as pushing in all different directions, not very effectively.
