I will attempt to take on two points that are glaring disasters and straight out lies.
CS Monitor: Why House Republicans might vote against Obama tax deal
“It’s not a question of loyalty,” says Michael Steele, a spokesman for House Republican leader John Boehner. “But our top priority is stopping job-killing tax hikes on Jan. 1. This is the only option at this time that will do that.”Listen to what Steele is saying and compare it to reality. Here is reality. Corporate America has recently had some of its very best profits in history. Not just recent history but all history. They are raking in the dough. The stock market DOW index is around a remarkable 11,500 in a time of extremely high unemployment. What does this mean? It means that trickle down does not work. It doesn't work! If corporations were trickling it down we would have low unemployment now because corporations are awash in money. Do not fall for this trickle down nonsense coming from Republicans.
Among Democrats' concerns:It is point three that should have everyone in the country that is relying on Social Security crazed right now. This cut is an assault on SSI. Do you really think that a Republican Congress is going to "raise taxes" at the end of next year when the alleged percentage is supposed to sunset. Let's get real here. This is an assault on SSI and Obama is leading the charge! It is criminal.
* Not extending the Bush tax cuts to the wealthiest has been an article of faith for Democrats throughout this Congress and into the campaign season.
* A new version of the estate tax that exempts the first $5 million of an estate and taxes those above that level at 35 percent, instead of the 55 percent rate due to take effect on Jan. 1.
* The one-year tax holiday, which cuts employee share of Social Security payroll taxes from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent, is being seen as the opening shot of an all-out assault on the program once Republicans take back control of the House in January.
“It’s a step down on Social Security and a continuation of a process that gives more and more to the rich,” says Rep. Jim McDermott (D) of Washington, who says he will vote no on the bill. There appears to be a few voices out there that are concerned with the middle class and below. This is rare.

Obama and the DLC Dems. ( Blue Dogs , Stealth Gopers "wolves in sheep's clothing) etc. et al. are no more friends of the middle and working classes then the Gopers. They differ only with the Gopers on some social issues. The Obama -Clinton Dem. is a Corporatist and supports the BIG Corp. marriage between Gov't and Big Biz. It's this relationship that is destroying the rest of the economy and locking in all the gains to the top 2%.
As for trickle down or as it was more accurately called "Voodoo economics " it doesn't matter a bit to these people that it's never worked. The facts never get in the way of what these folks want and if lying and tossing around totally false economic theories helps so be it. Look, there are lots of people out here that still believe Saddam had WMDs even though it's been totally disproven and even their Pres. BV$H 2 admitted as much and made fun of the whole lie in public. It goes on and on the things these fools want to believe in contrary to the facts. The sad truth is an increasingly large subset of Americans are deeply delusional.
My opinion of Obama has sunk through the floor with this deal. At this point I don't think it would have mattered had McCain won. What would have been different? Very disappointing - in my opinion its at the level of the start of the Iraq War with all of the disinformation. I don't think people get it. If they did there would be an outpouring of protest.
Obama like I said, only differs by degree not by substance. That manmy want to believe in him without question is just more delusional thinking.
