There's a pretty good sci-fi show on the Cable nets called Incorporation that takes place in 2073. Very realistic and very very dark.

Nothing new here, except we now have a President-elect who actively denies any of this. The Church did the same thing when Copernicus insisted the Earth wasn't the center of the Universe. In the center of the TRUMPIan Universe is Trump himself and if he says its not so then his followers will agree with him. If he says gravity isn't proved they will agree. Science for them like the Pope and Church back in the Middle Ages is only useful when it conforms to ideology. This si what happens when people become unhinged from reason.

I think a lot of these people in the rust belt and those in other areas of the country who lost their jobs due to globalization or even to automation, all they heard was you - you got a raw deal and I'm going to work for you to fix it. That's all they heard except for a few who got it mixed up with a reason for all this which is immigrants and the political class in Washington. Otherwise these people didn't hear anything else, they heard what they wanted to hear. Trump better get used to responding to severe weather crisis, because they are coming, they will occur over the next four years. There's no way around it. It's looks like he wants to be a wartime/torture/infrastructure/tax cutting president. Say hello to a recession as well.
