The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 39 degrees and overcast here in the Upper Hudson Valley, the forecast predicts rain and temperatures in the 40s this afternoon. With Gore winning the popular vote in 2000 and Clinton winning the popular vote in 2016, can we talk about the structural disadvantage for the Democrats in national elections. It strikes me that Democrats need a 6% and above popular vote advantage in order to secure a win. I am speaking strictly from observing the elections and following the polls as they develop over the course of a presidential campaign. That is not democracy.

At 9:15 a.m. ET futures are slightly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open slightly higher.

Notice that oil is rising after hitting lows not seen in months. The UK is experiencing a steady rise in inflation as the pound devalues with the Brexit. Also notice that the DOW is at record highs attributed to positive emotion regarding Trump. Trump plans to cut taxes and boost infrastructure spending.
