The Misinformation Network

Guardian UK: Frightened by Donald Trump? You don’t know the half of it - Many of his staffers are from an opaque corporate misinformation network. We must understand this if we are to have any hope of fighting back against them by George Monbiot
Don’t imagine that other parts of the world are immune. Corporate-funded thinktanks and fake grassroots groups are now everywhere. The fake news we should be worried about is not stories invented by Macedonian teenagers about Hillary Clinton selling arms to Islamic State, but the constant feed of confected scares about unions, tax and regulation drummed up by groups that won’t reveal their interests.

In what used to be called FOXworld this was the norm , now it's Trumplandia and the disinfo and propaganda will come right from the top as it did in BV$HLandia, except that now much of it will be spread more directly through social network sites. My guess is once these people get a tighter control of the Internet as in China and Russia and the other Authoritarian States they will take us to such a place as quickly as possible. Control of the news and the information sources people have is a critical goal of the evolving TRUMP regime. This is why they brought onboard Steve Bannon and others like him. Their job will be to shape a Worldview for Americans to live in and any other will be hammered daily. Will they go as far as Putin or the Chinese leadership? Yes, eventually but the American public has to be handled more delicately because it has been raised with this illusion of freedom and so going there must be done over time.

I've temporarily deactivated my Facebook account because I can no longer handle the bombardment of information. And during the campaign I was more guilty than most of posting stuff all of which amounted to a mountain of bullshit in terms of it's meaning and eventual effect. After this c-fuck election, I need space. I'm limiting my newspapers to just the NY Times and the Guardian, and I'm limiting my websites for political news to MSNBC and there mostly just Maddow and Hayes. Look half the electorate voted for Trump - his remarkably inauthentic campaign and personality won the presidency, so we are already into the disinformation age and it is very effective.
