The Market On Tuesday

Good morning. It is 41 degrees and it is rainy here in the Upper Hudson Valley. The forecast is predicting that the temperature stays in the 40s all day and that it rains. Big day today as 5 states, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maryland, and Delaware have their presidential primaries. Some speculate that this will be the end of the Sanders campaign unless there a last minute miracle. I did watch some of the Bernie Sanders town hall last night and overall he sounded good except his demeanor was less that gregarious; the writing is on the wall and he is aware of it.

At 9:15 a.m. ET futures are modestly higher and the price of oil per barrel is up. The market is poised to open higher.

Long story short, it is first quarter corporate earnings report season and so far all seems fine in that realm. The DOW is hovering around 18,000 and it's steady as she goes. Oil continues to hold in the $40 to $45 range.

There are so many companies reporting earnings it's hard to read the list without pausing for breath.
