Interesting themes. I find most Islamic artists have a harder time with illustrating people. You can see in their art a kind of tension when doing it. They aren't comfortable doing it.
I like the gentle quality to his work, he seems to want to express better human qualities somehow. So to me the work is easy and pleasing. The human figure is real tricky territory.
Yes, the themes are definitely that. It's the way the figures are expressed artistically.
