Two Nitwits Lose

Nitwit Tea Party nitwits Angle and O'Donnell lost in their Senate bids. At least we can savor that one, rather that two. I can't recall seeing worse candidates ever. There have been equally bad candidates, but no one worse.

CS Monitor: Lesson from Christine O'Donnell defeat: where tea party overreached
She was quickly defined by her past comments to Mr. Maher about her experimentation with witchcraft as a youth. If Delaware GOP primary voters had known about these words before they made their choice, perhaps they’d have opted for Mr. Castle after all.

And her loss may show the limits of the tea party movement's reach. Delaware is a very blue state. While its GOP voters may have been energized by the tea party message of smaller government and less taxation, Democrats won with sheer numbers. Something similar happened in neighboring Maryland, where an incumbent Democratic governor, Martin O’Malley, cruised to an easy victory on a cushion of votes from traditional Democratic constituencies such as unions and minorities.

I'm no fan of Reid but really. As for the other dip shit what can I say? The GOP did well last night because what other choice did Americans have to send a protest to DC? It's a broken system isn't it? A system where the two wholly owned ( by Corp. America) parties ping pong us back and forth and you get similar results from both. Is this Change we can believe in ...really?

What you say is true. Still I see the Repubs as by far the worse of two great evils. They bring too much baggage with their no global warming, no social security, no public schools, no safety nets, ultra pro business ways. I predict that Washington will get far far worse in the next two years, not better.

Maureen Dowd is pretty good today.

I don't buy the lessor of 2 evils argument anymore. I think were allowing ourselves to be painted into a corner and it's time to look around at the larger world for answers.

GK, I don't hear the Dems saying they want to end entitlements including SSI. On the other hand I do hear the GOP wanting to privatize everything.

Both are Corporatist parties they only differ by degree. Neither cares much for the average person, they only care about themselves 1st and their wealthy clients 2nd 3rd and 1089th. We the people no longer matter.

Well said Glen.

But don't forget the revolutionary war was fought because American moguls didn't want to broker their deals through England.

Sometimes something good happens here, but it's always for the wrong reason.

I am totally disappointed at the way Obama was so (gee, I guess I have to do better) conciliatory.

Yes, he will be much happier with a Congress composed of Corp. shills like himself. Of course Congress as now constituted will do everything possible to get rid of him by any means. Expect endless investigations to start in January.
