Fiscal Commission: Unchecked Debt Threatens US Security

Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson, co-chairmen of President Barack Obama's fiscal commission, respond to the crisis the nation is facing if Congress doesn't respond to their plan to reduce the country's budget deficit.

You heard them..it's all about funding the endless war machine and these same asswads want to do this by cutting SSI, Medicare and everything else to pay to fund their pals Empire. Oh and to add insult to friggin injury at the same time they want to keep the BV$H tax cuts for the Oliogarchs , which by all accounts adds a Trillion dollars to this same debt going forward. In other words they want the rapidly disappearing Middle Class and the poor to pay for this reduction in an increasingly sparse even disapperared Social Safety net and they want us to believe this will happen through a hyper-inflation get ypu @ the same moment as the rest of the economy is in a rapidly defaltionary spiral. Something is wrong with the picture these klowns are painting. Maybe, they're watching too much Glenn Beck? They should get back to usget back to us when they can get their story straight. Sounds like to me more shock and awe form the same lying neo-cons and their neo-liberal pals that brought us the endles war on terror and the collapse of the economy etc. These people piss me off. But you can bet Obama is buying and so will the MSM. The game here folks is to gut whats left of the Social Safety net (SSI & Medicare ) and give this cash to the military. That's how our Nat'l security is being threatened? FUCK THAT! Cut the military! Do we need 400 bases world-wide? Do we need to endless wars in the ME so a few Oil Corps. and their pals in the Military contracting business can stay billionaires? This is disgusting. Bowles and Simpson are nothing more then paid shills for these Corps, and least I forget so is Obama, who for some unknown reason appointed these morons in the 1st place to what's been aptly called "The Cat Food" Commission.

Its interesting but have you noticed the articles appearing that -

a.talk about the risks of a spiraling deficit and

b.talk about the need for an American military superiority over the next one hundred years in order to "prevent" a world in chaos.

What we have here is exactly what you have described. It is a conjunction of the tea party screwy and misdirected idea of fiscal constraint AKA cut SSI and other entitlements (a long standing Republican talking point) and mix it with the neo-conservative PNAC one hundred years of American hegemony.

People thought that Obama would be a release from the viciousness of the neo-cons. What we are getting that is pre-round two of further neo-con world gutting and military spending. I'm sure this latest Russian American agreement is linked.

Actually when I write this it makes me realize that we are further fucked. Democracy is suffering a huge set back. Here's the real kicker, the media and corporate owners linked with the military have completely re-worked the language to appeal to the majority. They have merged the talking points with redefined their needs as if they were our needs.

Yes, they've seized the language ala Orwell and they are also masters at framing things in a way that they appeal to the public. It's scary to watch isn't it but this what they do and their increasingly less subtle about it. They want their slaves to essentially pay for the their own slavery. They'll probably get away with it.
