The Kind Waterboarder

Read it carefully. Bush is saying that he chose waterboarding because it was the most compassionate approach to torture. Seriously, that is what he is saying.

He is saying that he was presented with a list of torture methods and he chose the one, waterboarding, that was the gentlest. After all it left no lasting harm. Apparently there is no trauma from waterbaording, who knew, and yes I am attempting to be sarcastic.

Bush is campaigning to reconstruct his tarnished image as a wise compassionate leader. He is quite a campaigner. At least 25% of the US population is already on board with the waterboarder.

CS Monitor: In interview about 'Decision Points' memoir, Bush stands by waterboarding
President George Bush authorized the waterboarding of three men during his tenure in office, and claims that doing so saved American and British lives...

..."damn right"...

"There were two that I felt went too far, even if they were legal. I directed the CIA not to use them. Another technique was waterboarding, a process of simulated drowning. No doubt the procedure was tough, but medical experts assured the CIA that it did no lasting harm."
