Obama Opposes Extending Bush Tax Cuts

The hypocrisy remains intact. The Bush tax cuts are fundamental to the massive rise in the deficit. The idea was to bankrupt the government and consequently "drain the beast" of entitlements which would no longer be economically viable. This continues with a Republican assault on SSI, in Republican eyes the most vicious "socialist" entitlement. Republicans are still waging war with FDR. In the backs of their hypocritical little minds they see a huge cake ready for consumption by the top 1%.

NY Times: Obama Is Against a Compromise on Bush Tax Cuts
Mr. Obama’s opposition to allowing the high-end tax cuts to remain in place for even another year or two would be the signal many Congressional Democrats have been awaiting as they prepare for a showdown with Republicans on the issue and ends speculation that the White House might be open to an extension.

Finally he takes a stand. This puts him on our side for the moment only and suspiciously 2 mos. before the mid-terms. I don't trust him. Will he be against the tax cuts for the wealthy like he was for the Public Option? Ask yourself this as well why the so called Deficit Commission ( AKA The Cat Food Commission) stacked with Safety net cutters? I think Obama and his Wall st. pals and GOP allies intend to have it both ways. They will save the tax cuts for the rich and at the same time after this election pass bills cutting SSI and Medicare. If he goes along with any of it he's not really a Dem. but a GOPer ( Wolf) in sheeps clothing.

Let's get rid of these top 1% give-a-ways. Not welfare for the super rich.
