Saudi - US Weapon Deal

Apparently one of the USA's greatest exports is still going great guns. That export would be guns - and all types of military hardware.

The US has brokered a huge deal with Saudi Arabia. The Saudi's have bought $60 billion worth of state of the art weaponry. Hey weren't the 9-11 hijackers Saudi's?

My bad.

The Pentagon is suggesting that the weapons will be used in the fight against terrorism (is there an irony here?) and towards a joint eventual face off with stalwart Axis Of Evil (AOE?) member, Iran.

Tune in on March 21, 2011 at 7 p.m. EST to watch the first bombs fly - I'm making that up, and yes its not funny but it is potentially accurate. We like our wars on time, after the news thank you, and pre-empting Prime Time. I wonder who is already working away on the graphics and logo?

CS Monitor: Blockbuster US arms sale to Saudi Arabia: Will it deter Iran?
More than $60 billion worth of American F-15 fighter jets, Apache helicopters, and missile defense systems will soon be on their way to bolster the arsenal of Saudi Arabia...

“A motivating factor is clearly the threat posed by Iran’s missile programs and its nuclear programs,” says Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell.
