Here Comes Earl

Hurricane Earl is making a slow ascent up the East Coast.

It could be a windy labor day weekend.

It is the largest storm to menace so much of the Atlantic Coast since Hurricane Bob in 1991, but it remains unclear how close it will come to land.


Ar 2 p.m, Hurricane Earl was about 680 miles from Cape Hatteras, N.C., and whirling northwest at 17 mph.


It was downgraded to a Category 3 storm...
