Not going into the reasons for this right here, but I will say this. What is it exactly that Republicans are offering? The party has moved further to the right, and their rhetoric is not even comprehensible. This country just likes crazy...
CS Monitor: Election 2010: How bad is it for Democrats?
"The odds still favor Democrats holding their majority, but that is no longer given..."
“This is an environment in which any Democratic laxity or misstep can prove fatal and even underfunded or flawed Republicans can be highly competitive.”

The D's are going to lose badly . The reason , the public isn't coming out because Obama and the party leadership in Congress have essentially spent the last 2 yrs. doing nothing of any value and on top of that they've been abusing their own base to the pt. that they've turned off the very people they need to get reelected in many cases. On the flip side of this the Radical GOP base is all fired up and ready to take power and then drive home their crazy ass agenda and guess what Obama will do whatever they want is my guess. Oh he'll complain about it all the way to signing ceremonies u can bet on that and then he'll blovate endlessly about bi-partisanship. He's going to be a 1 term president but , frankly I don't think he even cares.
The midterm election traditionally goes to the incumbent's opposing party. Did for Clinton, eventually for Bush. Obama is going gray faster than anyone yet. Considering what he has faced I give him credit. Health care blows, Iraq is still a mess, the economy is bad but fundamentally better than the stand still it came to in early 09. The power players still exert power, big oil still runs a lot of the show.
I hate to say it but the BIG powers have nothing but contempt for him and his people. He's listening to the wrong people. He doesn't seem to even know who his real friends are. Pathetic.
