Less Horse, More Cow, No Dog, Mostly Goat

People ascribe feelings, emotions, and human traits to animals. This tendency appears to be squeezing horse off the French menu.

Yet, its fine to eat cows. I don't get it, horse bad, cow good.

It would be an interesting study, the attribution of unassailable life rights to animals. Somebody who hurts a dog now goes to jail. That was not always the case, obviously.

Well horses have gained sympathy in France. Worldwide goat is the animal mostly eaten.

Reuters: In France, horse falling off restaurant menus
Last year, 15,820 horses were killed for their meat in France, of which over 7,000 were imported from abroad.

"Horse is indeed a French dish, but you'd be very hard-pressed to find it in any restaurants now..."
