I am going to vote for calling the new year - twenty ten. Two thousand ten is too many syllables. People always go for the short nickname anyhow.
I was just thinking how one short year ago we still had Junior as president. Thank god that monstrosity is packed and moved.
Obama's Presidency is the highlight of the year, despite his resemblance to another version of corporatist insider. He's still a vast improvement over the Cheney - Bush cabal.

Yes, Obama is a "Corporatist insider" for sure. Saying he's better then BV$H though is unfair because were talking about as low a hurdle as you can give someone in that regard. I prefer to see the cup half full as regards our new Emperor. He's really no improvement in ways that really count. Worse he's a bald face liar as Cong. Joe Wilson so aptly described him. We really need an FDR type figure right now not the political equivalent of Tiger Woods.
