What can we say, hopefully technology will take care of this airplane bombing craziness.

Waste of $$. I worked for the FAA and the TSA and we had teams that went around daily and got through every kind of machine with ease . The teams carried guns , knives , bombs u name it. The rate they got through the best security was frightening. The TSA knows damn well that its damn near impossible to really protect planes. Remember that was just the passengers and carry on stuff the luggage that goes on isn't even checked at all. Its relatively easy to blow up a plane . The terrorists though want to make a big splash so they need people to do it at precise moments. Eventually, they'll get away with it again. The real danger to society is the loss of freedom we are paying for little security. The FAA etc. should just post a BIG sign at every airport... FLY @ your own risk! Its the truth. We used to say if u want to be safe take a train.

Eye opening post GK. I would agree that the loss of freedom from all of this stuff is dangerous in so many directions - then you get the neocons who use it as an excuse to open up Armageddon. You would thin that the FAA and such would be on this tooth and nail because when these terrorist messes occur people stay away.

The FAA is on nothing quickly. My experience of the FAA is that the people who run it could care less. Their all careerists and Corp. bureaucrats who move from lucrative Industry jobs to lucrative Gov't jobs whichever feathers their nest better. Oh and their clueless.
