Worldwide Recession

World economies continue to move into recession. One of the hardest hit European countries is Spain.

Reuters: Recession rescue intensifies as job losses pile up
"The Australian economy has probably slipped into its first recession since the early 1990s..."

Spain...figures showed the number of registered jobless surged by nearly 200,000 in January, the tenth straight rise...

Data from the Bundesbank showed a 0.7 percent drop in German retail sales in December, disappointing economists...

(In the USA) The National Association of Realtors' Pending Home Sales Index rose for the first time since August...."I'm sure it's foreclosure-driven...

I was in Lowes tonight, maybe customers and the help were all yakking in a group. One register was open and nobody was there.
