Keeping Gates on was a tacit ok for this kind of thing. We'll never get our economy straight if were buried in these sand traps. Nothing we can do in these places will fix the monumental fuck ups of the last 200 yrs. in these regions.
I would agree. The idea of a victory in Afghanistan is meaningless.
If bin Laden really is in the "western tribal region of Pakistan" then get him. With all the amazing super weaponry and observation satellites, what's the problem.
Really we pay these people billions and all they seem to be able to do is kill civilians by the ship load. I don't think they could find their way to the rest room without help. What we need is a Royal Mountie here, they always find their man/women, AKA Dudley Doright.
