Nobody knows how strong the downdraft is. The problems being left by this mal-administration are so huge and so long in coming one has to guess were looking @ yrs. not months for any turn around. I personally don't think the new admin. will bea ble to alter very much. The BV$H gang made damn sure that the winners of his admin. got away with most of the countries remaining wealth and resources. They're already trying to destroy Obama through this Blago scandal. If it's not this scandal then they'll find something else. They will not quit till they get him out of office.

I think the right is on the ropes. They have awesome powerful interests but they are at present in decline as well. As we know that alone does not stop them from assuming and taking whatever power and wealth they want.
Obama will get his grace period and he will get some results. The thing is he will throw some regulation at the banks in order to try to create an economy that is sustaining rather than bubble followed by burst. If the grumbling and rejection of his policies are so great that he gets bounced in 2012 by some Republican dingbat then we go back to deregulation, more poverty, more unemployment and more tough shit.

I bet the DOW doesn't go above 10000 for a long long time but there will be some companies that do fine, some that do average, and many that go bust. In my opinion all the ingredients are there for a progressive, intelligent, green type of business culture. More of the old school CEOs have to die out and a younger greener group of intrapreneurs takes over. This has to happen its a matter of how long. I think a lot of younger smart people get it.

Too many big shots in the business community don't get it. There has to be a different way of doing business and extermination capitalism based on tough shit, reaming out the environment, burning off everything in sight, inflating wealth on paper, all of that is out the window. We know that. We are experiencing the result of it and it can't reappear because there's nothing left to sustain it.

Its going to take a few years to get humming again.

Nobody gets away with anything. I fully believe in the laws of karma, completely. There is no exception to this based on the fact that somebody is an idiot or is stupid or fabulously and securely wealthy. There is never a need for revenge because revenge is already occurring. There is no psychic purity or happiness based on fraud and aggression, only the appearance of it. This is all in my opinion of course, but I believe it to be true. It might take time for it to be evident but it always happens. You cant do miserable things in your life and expect that it just dissipates this goes for leaders and wealthy people especially because they are responsible for many lives. No island gated getaway guarded life will keep those hounds away.

I love your optimism. Unfortunately half my family was wiped out by Nazis and many of these killers died in bed in their 80's with their grandchildren @ their side. I don't believe in some simple law of Karma. Maybe the killers are confronted in the next life by the heavenly police but in this world it didn't happen. Cambodia, Rwanda , Darfur, Armenia most of the killers get away with genocide. No mercy , no justice.

Its only the appearance of happiness. happiness based on extortion violence, aggression, stealing killing, torture all that is only arrogance and not fundamental happiness. Appearances are deceiving.

Happiness? I wasn't even thinking about whether these scumbags lived happy lives or not. It just pisses me off that so many lived @ all and that they got to spread their corrupt seed into another generation.
