The Market On Friday

Good morning and it's almost time to get your weekend face on, that would be the smile. It is 49 degrees and hazy here in Upstate NY. The logo is predicting rain today and rain right through the weekend. We got water, lots and lots of water. California wishes they had half of it, that's for sure. So, do not despair, to live in an area where there is an abundance of water at this point in time is a strong positive.

At 8:45 futures are slightly higher and the price of oil is up. The market will open higher because...

I just read this - "U.S. adds 288,000 jobs in April, government says. Unemployment rate falls to 6.3% from 6.7% the prior month." That's more like it. Of course we do not know what the quality of those jobs are, if you know what I mean. Regardless, Obama will get a few grace points today. And do I attribute the boost to him, not really but at least he didn't start another land war and simultaneously reduce taxes even further for the ultra-rich.

CNN: Stocks: All about the jobs report
...Economists surveyed by CNNMoney predict that the U.S. added 205,000 new jobs, bringing the unemployment rate down to 6.6% from 6.7% in March.
