The Market On Friday

Good morning. It is 61 degrees and sunny on this bright morning here in Upstate NY. Welcome to the weekend and hooray for that. I hope the weather is clear tomorrow, I'd like to get out onto some trails and get into nature a little bit.

At 8:15 a.m. futures are slightly lower and the price of oil per barrel is down. At this moment the market is poised to open lower.

It is the last trading day for May. All in all May has been a good month to be in equities. Next Friday we'll get the all important Federal government jobs data for the month of May. Hard to believe June is almost here. Today investors will be parsing economic data on all sorts of things including consume sentiment, my favorite. How are you fellow consumer, are you consuming enough, want to consume more, consume we shall.
