Military spending is another piece of the economic puzzle as far as I can tell. Many communities throughout the US are dependent on the jobs related to the military industry. It's exactly like the movement to get away from fossil fuels into something more renewable, those military industry communities don't have the will or the political pull to change over into something else. The job of a lot of these right wing politicians and left wing as well is to keep money coming into their states in order to keep jobs and work on some type of weapon or related part of the military cog. If they can't figure out how to change something like that for example change from military jobs which produce a product that has no after value in the community like a bomb versus something like a prefab green energy house which has an ongoing value in the community.

Anyhow I didn't finish my though here - If they can't figure out how to make changes in their communities regarding jobs how are they ever going to work on a complex issue like global warming. I just don't see anything ever being done.
