Personally I believe that in the mass variety that we humans come in, some of us literally have a conscious mind that is much more connected to a mind pattern from thousands of years ago. We are not all present with an equal conscious that embraces the knowledge of the present. I suspect even you have met people that seem like they are from a cave person era. The people that cannot accept evolution are part of this old world consciousness that still inhabits the human mind in our present era. If they can't believe in evolution who am I to chastise them, and in some ways mess up their highly controlled sense of the world. As long as they keep it to themselves, all is cool. Push it onto your children and your neighbors, then we have a problem.

I agree with you. I see these people as being very vulnerable mentally with a need for tight control. As long as they don't push it on anybody else, I DGAS. Push it on others, then we have a problem.
