It was a smokers world back then. It was rude to tell someone to put it out if they were smoking in your house or car. Now its the opposite. Smokers are becoming outcasts like Alcoholics. A smoker is seen as someone with a lack of control. Its an addiction as bad as or worse then alcohol or drugs.

I used to smoke, wised up and quit around age 22 or so. Now I hate the smell of it.

Political parties have adjusted the statement for their own gains - "Blow smoke up their ass and they'll follow you anywhere..."
